Pratt Industries is moving right along with their two-phase project in Wapakoneta.
According to Greg Myers, the paper mill, the first phase of the project, is expected to be fully operational by October of next year. Pratt is planning a testing of the paper mill sometime in April. The $310 million project will sit on 110 acres of land on Highway 25A, south of the city. Myers also said that Pratt intends to move right into phase two of the project, the building of a corrugated box factory. That's expected to begin in spring of 2019, well ahead of schedule.
"As paper's ready to be made in the mill, it'll go right into the box factory," Myers said, executive director of the Wapakoneta Area Economic Development Council. "We're excited about that. It's about two years ahead of schedule on the box factory so we're very pleased with that."
Pratt's project is expected to create around 300 new jobs.
