City of Wapakoneta

Working with us to assure your business success

The City of Wapakoneta was established in 1833. Since its very beginnings it has been a business-friendly location. Commerce that first depended upon the Auglaize River and later the railroad and Interstate 75 has grown and prospered. In recent years the City has been very proactive in developing fully-served industrial sites in its 700-acre West Central Ohio Industrial Center at the intersection of I-75 and US 33. The City has invested nearly $5 million in infrastructure improvements for the sites. The City of Wapakoneta was among the first recipients of Ohio's new Job Ready Sites Program receiving a $1.9 million JRS grant from the Ohio Department of Development in 2006. It will soon become one of Ohio's first certified manufacturing sites.

The City administration values the investment of local businesses and works closely with the Wapakoneta Area Economic Development Council to meet their needs. Wapakoneta provides excellent local services with moderate rates and maximum service. Unlike our larger sister cities in the U.S., we are here when you need us - available and ready to help. We would be glad to include you in our local business community.
